How NWSL Points Work
A team earns three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. Total points determine the initial table order.

How to Read the NWSL Standings
Goals For, Goals Against and Goal Difference
GF is the number of goals scored, GA is the number conceded, and GD is GF minus GA. A positive GD means a team has scored more than it has allowed.
Recent Form and Next Match
The Last 5 column makes short-term form easy to compare. Select the next date for match time, venue and viewing details, or select a club for its full schedule.
How the 2026 NWSL Playoff Line Works
All 16 clubs compete in one table. After the 30-game regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the single-elimination NWSL Playoffs.
Seeds 1–8 Qualify
The quarterfinal matchups are 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5. The higher seed hosts in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds when venue availability permits.
The Playoff Cutoff
The line after eighth place separates the current playoff positions from the teams chasing them. The cutoff can change after every completed match.
NWSL Standings Tiebreakers
If teams finish level on points, the 2026 order begins with goal difference, then total wins and goals scored, followed by head-to-head and disciplinary criteria if still tied.
2026 NWSL Standings Questions
How many NWSL teams make the playoffs?
Eight of the 16 clubs qualify. Finishing in the top half of the regular-season table earns a playoff place.
Why can teams have different games played?
Postponements, rescheduled matches and uneven matchweek timing can temporarily leave teams with different GP totals. PPG helps compare their scoring pace, but official positions remain based on total points.
